Review of Chocolate
General Thoughts
I grabbed this chocolate because I thought that pineapple was an interesting flavor choice for chocolate, but I did not expect the chocolate to actually be that good as the flavor seemed like it might be uncommon for a reason.
Sight
The bar had a deep dark brown color with clear crispy inclusions when the bar is flipped over (I did not know that they were “waffle” pieces when I ate the chocolate).
Sound
The chocolate makes a great snap when it is broken.
Smell
It had a rich and deep roasted dark chocolate smell that was pleasant.
Taste
This chocolate had a very unique sour and umami flavor. The acidity of the pineapple paired really well with the rich chocolate flavor. The chocolate created a great foundation that really supported the pineapple flavor. None of the flavors lingered for too long.
Mouthfeel
In terms of mouthfeel, this chocolate was extremely warm and pungent with a hard and crunchy texture. It melted very well even with the waffle inclusions.
Conclusions
This chocolate was a bit of a surprise for me, but it was very delicious. I would definitely buy it again for sure!
