Review of Chocolate

General Thoughts

I bought this bar in a Brazilian corner grocery in Georgia, USA on a whim with really little understanding of anything about it. White chocolate is not really my preference and convenience store chocolate is not always the best, but I do not often see Brazilian chocolate so thought it would be worth a try.

Sight

The bar is tannish in color, almost a caramelized white chocolate color, with clearly visible inclusions of raisins and cereals embedded into the chocolate.

Sound

The bar has produces a good snap when broken.

Smell

It smells of vanilla and cream which I associate with the traditional smells of white chocolate.

Taste

In terms of taste, the chocolate is quite sweet but does not linger unpleasantly. I expected a raisin taste but did not find that they contributed clearly to the flavor.

Mouthfeel

The chocolate has a very creamy and waxy mouthfeel which is common for white chocolate, but it is also has a hardness that is less common for whites. It melts well except, of course, for the raisin and cereal inclusions. There may be some slight chewiness from the raisins, but they are not clearly expressed. However, the cereal provides a very considerable amount of crunch.

Conclusions

Generally speaking, this bar is not bad at all and has a nice taste, but it is not something I would necessarily go out of my way to get. If you like white chocolate, it could be worth picking up, but there are better white chocolate bars out there.
